Welcome to the start of our study of the book of Ephesians! Anyone is invited to join in. You don’t need to buy an expensive book. I will even list the verses here each week to hopefully make it very convenient to read them. The verses will be between 10-15 verses a week which can easily be read in just a few minutes. If you have ever put off Bible study, today is the day to start, sweet friend!

Today, I just want to give you the passage for the week (only 11 verses!). All you need to do is read over the verses (listed here for convenience) and then on Friday morning, I will post my thoughts on the passage. Now, I am NOT by any means a Bible scholar. That is why I really want this study to be led by YOU! On Friday, please post your thoughts in the comments and then throughout the weekend and into next week, we can each reply to each other and get some good discussion going.

See?

Easy peasy.

Lemon squeasy.

So, today’s passage is………………………………….. Ephesians 1:1-11 (listed below in NLT, but you can find your translation of choice here)

Ephesians 1:1-11 (NLT)

Greetings from Paul

“This letter is from Paul, chosen by the will of God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus.

I am writing to God’s holy people in Ephesus, who are faithful followers of Christ Jesus.

May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.

Spiritual Blessings

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son.He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.

God has now revealed to us his mysterious plan regarding Christ, a plan to fulfill his own good pleasure. 10 And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth. 11 Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan.

Be sure to read over the passage throughout the week, meditate on the meaning, pray about these verses, and then come back on Friday to discuss with all of us here. We will be looking for YOU because YOU are important to this study!

Love and hugs to you all!
